Mike Beaumont

Creative Director

Bio

Coming to us straight outta the “suburbs of Cleveland,” Mike leads the creative team with a passion and intensity unlike any other team member. A Junkie since 2007, he draws from a diverse skill set and years of industry experience to help guide projects to completion, providing insight into the creative and technical potential each of these unpolished gems possesses. A connoisseur of many of the finer things in life, Mike frequently injects personal experience and knowledge into Spacejunk's projects. When asked what his favorite part of the job is, Mike lists: “Seeing how talented groups of people can come together to make something that none of them would have been able to accomplish on their own.”

After Hours

Away from the studio, Mike is passionate about urban planning, cycling, food, beer, politics and world affairs. He is a die-hard Browns and soccer fan. He loves to read and also tries to still find time for video games. Oh, and he is focused on raising his daughter to be a kick ass, confident woman someday.

Karl Hein

Art Director

Bio

Karl is Spacejunk’s resident curmudgeonly art director with insightful strategic thinking and a keen eye for beautiful design. A veteran designer and copywriter, Karl brings clear and thoughtful intention to all his work. His ability to juggle multiple projects is only dwarfed by his ability to consume vast amounts of hot dogs in food challenges. We’re genuinely not sure how he’s still alive, but are glad that he is.

After Hours

Karl’s a regular Renaissance man, if da Vinci was into building Gundam replica statuettes. His crafts outside work include playing music, cooking, and building. He also loves exploring as much new food as possible and taking spontaneous road trips (he’s basically Ice Cube in Are We There Yet?).

Brent Jackson

Art Director

Bio

Brent was born and raised in Williamstown, West Virginia. After graduating with a BFA in Painting from WVU, Brent worked in various creative and production roles before discovering his love for shooting and directing.  He is a multi-talent with a passion for cinematography and live-action directing.  Since joining the Spacejunk team in February of 2015, Brent has brought his magnetic sense of humor and his passion for the creative process to his role as Art Director.  Brent says his favorite part of his job is “that moment in an edit bay when something really inspired happens…when one little idea elevates the coarse of a whole piece.  It’s powerful, it’s exciting, and completely addicting!"

When not junkin’, Brent likes to spend his free time with his wife and two little daughters.  He loves playing guitar, watching documentaries, and any combination of craft beer and good friends.

Joey Judkins

Animator

Bio

Joey always wanted to be an animator, ever since he saw "Aladdin" in the theater more times than you can count on one hand. But when he went to art school, he discovered his true passion for motion design. Joey’s a father, husband, gamer, and if you’re lucky, a singer. My favorite part of the job is the ability to do amazing work with a phenomenal team of animators. My favorite projects are the ones that blend everyone’s unique talents together to create something that no one but Spacejunk could do.

After Hours

Joey’s “free time,” the hour-and-a-half block of time between his kids’ bedtime and his own bedtime, consists of the video gaming, snacking, hanging out with his wife, and often a mixture of all three.

Lindsey Kelly

Motion Designer

Bio

Born and raised in Kirtland Ohio, Lindsey first unleashed her passion for animation making stop-motion shorts in her best friend’s attic. Lindsey went on to become an animator at Nickelodeon in New York City, where she had the pleasure of bringing countless characters to life, from TMNT's Leonardo to the beloved Bubble Guppies. After nearly 10 years in the Big Apple, she returned to her Ohio roots and quickly became the token lady animator at Spacejunk.

After Hours

Outside of SJ you'll likely find Lindsey being reckless in the great outdoors. From fly fishing alongside Kodiak grizzlies to chasing snakes in Australia, it's safe to say her mother is worried sick. Closer to home, Lindsey may be known for getting a bit too competitive at Shuffle Board, Fantasy Football, Dodgeball...you name it.

Allison Maier

Production Coordinator

Bio

Allison moved to Ohio after getting her BFA from Ringling College of Art + Design. As literally the only person in history to migrate TO Ohio FROM Florida, she has no idea what an ice scraper is. Please don't tell her, it's going to be our entertainment come December. She studied motion design in college, but found a genuine passion for spreadsheets or whatever it is that the people in production do. From what we understand, Allison's organized and strategic mind is what makes her so good at ensuring all those cells are filled in or something?

After Hours

When not at SJ, Allison likes to spend time exploring the midwest with her husband and their two dogs, Tom Brady and Lillie, while talking about how awesome lightning bugs are! Despite these hobbies and being from Florida, you’ll be surprised to learn that Allison is not 75 years old.

Xavier McAllister

Editor

Bio

Growing up in the town of Steubenville, Ohio afforded Xavier the opportunity to build his chops in many facets of the entertainment industry from live theater performance to audio post production. That diverse set of skills on both sides of the production coin, led Xavier to the discovery that his real passion lied in telling stories as an editor. He landed at Spacejunk in a “best of all possible situations” scenario. Upon graduating from Capital University in 2015, he went straight to work for SJ and hasn’t looked back. His favorite part of the job is collective effort to progress everyday at the studio. When presented with challenges, 'impossible' is not a word often used at Spacejunk.

After Hours

When the lights go out at SJ, Xavier enjoys rock climbing, playing soccer, and immersing himself in the rapidly growing music scene of Columbus. Oh... and he is a classically trained operatic baritone with a focus on oratorio performance. You know, the usual stuff.

Alex Trimpe

Motion Designer

Bio

With an Italian mother gone professional chef, and one of the best forensic scientists in the world as a father, Alex had the full "left and right brain" spectrum of a childhood. After quitting football in high school, he picked up a video camera and shot some silly parody videos with his friends. This brought him to CCAD for video production, but he fell in love with motion design halfway through. Between graduating in 2012 and starting at Spacejunk in September of 2015, Alex had been a full time freelance motion designer, starting his own LLC and learning the ways of the business on his own. This passion and drive (and Italian heritage) spawned attributes comparable to that of the Wookiee: bravery, honesty, and hairy.

After Hours

Alex spends a lot of time with his friends hanging around Olde Towne East. If he’s not doing that, you’ll find him with his two cats, Ollie and Ouija.
