Danny's Stuff

Nationwide

This project was a labor of love from the beginning. We set out to tell the story of a man’s life experiences—from childhood through fatherhood—within the context of his most cherished possessions.

Hands On

We’re accustomed to creating self-contained worlds at SJ, but this time we constructed them out of real objects, diorama-style. Everyone got their hands dirty on this one, and in nearly every frame you'll find a personal item contributed by one of the Spacejunkies.

Telling the Story

The team faced a number of challenges on this project, the foremost being locating or creating every element needed to properly tell the story in each diorama. The end result was a mixture of found objects and footage, custom photography and video, as well as several digital items.

"Nationwide didn't want to include a lot of jargon, talk about financial rates, or anything like that. Our goal was just to get people to feel something."

We utilized a number of pre-visualization tools for this project.

Pre-visualization tools help our team and the clients align quickly on approaches. These include storyboards for visualizing how shots will be arranged and style-frames for demonstrating how a final shot will look.
